Plays Native American Flutes | Artist

Native American Flute aficionados are usually curious about the instruments used by performers. In this CD the flutes are from two makers: High Spirits Flutes (Odell Borg) from Patagonia, Arizona, and Dana Ross from Atlanta, Georgia.

High Spirits made the "d" (Kestrel) in maple, "g" (Red Tail Hawk) in red cedar, and the "a" (Sparrow Hawk) in cedar.

Dana Ross made the f# flute in alder and Bb bass flute from three different woods.

All of the flutes used are configured with only five holes. Where the flutes have six holes, the third hole from the top is blocked with deer and elk hide lacing.
